Who is Bénédicte Burguet-Journé?

“I am a Parisian journalist. Passionate about what we can commonly call ” beauty “, I am inspired by everything that surrounds me: architecture, a book, a fashion show, a dish and of course, a piece of jewelry. I am very sensitive to aesthetic.Discovering “beautiful things” has always been a driving force for me, which undoubtedly explains my profession and the birth of this collaboration.”

What drove you to develop this collaboration?

“The urge to create. Ever since the lockdown, I started drawing a lot. Everyday things, shoes, jewelry… When Maïssa invited me to create a ring, I immediately said yes.”

Why did you choose a ring, and more precisely a pinky ring?

“Because it is what I love the most. I think pinky rings are very chic. I also like the idea of highlighting the smallest finger on the hand.”

What inspired you for the creation of this ring?

“I thought about a chevalière as apinky ring. This ring that I value so much is an emblem, a sign of belonging to a family, it can also display an astrological sign, a lucky charm drawing… However, I didn’t want to “lock” the woman who was going to choose it into an idea. So I deliberately hollowed out the center so that the “emblem” of the Loyal.e ring would be the skin of its owner. To show her inner soul to the world.

Can you tell us a little more about the design of this ring?

“It’s a gold ribbon that wraps around the finger. The empty center is adorned with a diamond that seems to float like a single drop.”

What makes this ring so special to you, both in its design and its story?

“It is special to me because it reveals the woman who wears it. In this sense, it becomes a whole new ring each time.”

What inspires you about Loyal.e?

“The values of sustainability and the use of lab-grown diamond. I am always fascinated by technological developments and this is a major one for the jewelry industry.”

How do you wear your jewelry? How would you describe your style?

“I’m pretty minimalist, so I always wear one or two at a time. Never more. I don’t stack rings, but I love to alternate.”

What does it mean to you to have responsible or ethical practices?

“To spend wisely and to keep your belongings as long as possible. I like jewelry for that: it doesn’t get damaged and it carries values of perennity and heritage. As my mother would say, “You don’t throw a piece of jewelry away”.
